Take it back!

If you want to wait on hold with customer service every time you try to use this thing be my guest. I would recommend you just take the thermometer back like Im going to do!

No blue tooth! Why not would be so much easier !

This app is fine to use when it is connected but after you use it, the next time you goes to use it you have to re enter all the information to sync to your phone. Extremely time consuming !

Same as everyone else on here....

Every time I use this, it takes longer to set it up than it does to cook the food. Not worth the hassle.

Apple needs to be updated!

Just spent $100 on the thermometer. And every time I start up the app it tells me my thermometer is been reset (which it has it) and I need to run set up. Once I start set up it tells me my thermometer is already been set up. And then after that it works sometimes. 2013 for last update Is unacceptable for a current device.

Less than spectacular

Good idea, just poorly executed. Always had to reset and set up from the beginning every time I needed to use it and the app would never alarm properly. Youd think after nearly 2yrs they would update and fix all the glitches, sadly not..and so many of us would have loved and used this thermometer everyday.

Worst. App. Ever. Repeated setup, unreasonable login reqs

The other complaints about the app, Ive just experienced. The app will not connect to the thermometer after its gone to sleep. Even without turning off the smart thermometer. No, I am not changing the frequency my router works on to suit it, thats not something a kitchen gadget gets to dictate to me. No, I am not changing my WPA2 password to "something shorter" because thats not the WPA2 standard. If this gadget isnt compatible with the WPA2 standard, Williams-Sonoma shouldnt sell it. As others reported, after the WS-THERM device goes to sleep, the app cannot connect, and you have to setup from scratch. Heres the really ugly software dev violation. The final step of setup is that you have to provide a Williams-Sonoma.com login to complete. You CANNOT SKIP THIS STEP. What functionality does this provide? NONE. If you click Account Settings, it opens Safari to their web site, whereupon you have to login in manually -- it doesnt even automate logging in. Nothing after logging in reflects use of the thermometer. You cannot setup the app, or operate the app with the thermometer without providing web login credentials. The app does not disclose why it needs this. This would seem to be unapproved information gathering with no benefit to the user. Bottom line: Im not buying something like this from W-S ever again. The company has gone to the dark side.

Is anything being done to fix the ap?

Ive owned this thermometer and ap for two years and have all the problems identified by the majority. I see a couple work arounds - change your wifi password or set up a dedicated address. I am not going to weaken my home internet security to be able to use a thermometer and I dont have the skills to set the dedicated address. But the problem should not be left to the users to find a work around. Is there anyone from Williams Sonoma out there? You would think after two years of ratings with a 1 1/2 star rating they would fix the poor ap. Nice thermometer but I believe most people bought it for the hyped up wireless features.

WIFI unless...

I bought this when the salesperson at the store assured me the bad reviews were a fluke… sadly it is thanksgiving morning and the darn thing doesn’t work…. luckily i have a back up! This product is a huge dud and shouldn’t be sold by W & S when they are clearly aware of the products problems.

If it worked

I have a ton of great products from Williams Sanoma, this is not one of them. When/if you can get this thing to connect its great, otherwise its completely frustrating to have to constantly reconfigure it. I dont want to learn "a trick" to make it work, I just want it to work "as advertised". Save your money unless your a tech geek that likes to adjust settings on your router to make this work.

Doesnt work

We have the latest iOS software update, we followed all directions in the APP and the ones that came with it (not helpful), watched videos online, read blogs and it still doesnt work! We are both very frustrated. My husband has an engineering background and is now a surgeon. Smart guy. This shouldnt be this difficult!

When will this app be updated?!

Works once then never connects.
